Drug Delivery

A two pulse drug delivery tablet was developed for the antidiabetic drug metformin. The development was done by a co-operative inventor group of two universities, the Arab International University (AIU) and the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, institute of pharmacy (MLU). Members of the group were Abdul Ghani Maa Bared. Muhidien Jouma, Mohamed Haysam Al Kamal, Reinhard Neubert, Mazen Rajab. Based on the work and additional investigations on Tamarind seed gum derivatives in gastro-retentive tablets the latter got his academic graduation “Dr.rer.nat.” (2013).
